Compatible teas in histamine intolerance

  • Tulsi Or also called the holy basil, has calming, anti-depressive, anti-inflammatory and anti-histamines. The herb is even comparable to antihistamine medication. So Tulsi is an unbeatable partner in lowering your histamine level. (1/2)

  • Rooibos Has a strong antioxidant effect and regulates the histamine release. It also has an antidepressant and anti -allergic effect. Rooibos also contains natural flavonoids such as quercetin and aspalathin (natural antihistamines). Rooibos are available as a red and green variant, with the green rooibos having a higher histamine -lowering effect because it contains much more flavonoids. (3)

  • Passion flower. It facilitates falling asleep and relieves nervous unrest. She is also said to be anxious and soothing properties with gastrointestinal problems. In 2011 it was even voted the pharmaceutical plant of the year. (4)

  • Macrooted herb Effort, hormone regulating, antibacterial and antispasmodic. The tea even attributed to histamine -reducing properties. (5) Women's coating tea is not a tea for daily application, but should only be drunk 3 times a day during the period. If you take the pill, you should do without this tea.

  • Linden flowers Athletic and anti -inflammatory have a good effect and are a blessing for colds and fever.

  • Lemon balm Relieves stress, inner restlessness, nervousness and tension. It compensates for the histamine balance and inhibits the mast cell distribution and thus helps to suppress allergic reactions (natural anti -allergic) (7). The lemon balm also counteracts flatulence and is digestive. Another study has found that the lemon balm has a positive effect on irritable bowel syndrome and anti -inflammatory effects. (8)

  • Vervein (= iron herb) Effecting the intestine and nerves and promotes sleep. The Ursolicic acid occurring in the herb has an anti -allergic and mast cell stabilizing. (9)

  • lavender Haves calming and relaxing, loosens to fears and stress and compensates for inner unrest.

  • peppermint Has an anti -inflammatory, calming and pain -relieving effect and counteracts nausea and digestive problems. The flavonoids contained lead to reduced histamine release and relieve complaints with allergic reactions in the nasal sinus area. (10)

  • Mador stimulates saliva secretion and thus the liver and bile.

  • Dandelion herb Haves diuretic and stimulates galley secretion. The herb helps with a feeling of fullness and flatulence and supports our detoxification body the liver. 

  • Lemon grass Has nothing to do with a lemon. It has a strong anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic effect and has histamine-reducing properties. (11)

  • Cistroid tea Has antibacterial, immune-promoting, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties. In the case of colds, you should drink this tea supportive. Recent studies have shown that the tea supports the immune system, reinforces the effects of vitamin C and even protects the gastric mucosa. (12)

  • Ginger effects in the event of colds. The digestion is also positively influenced. Ginger is considered a natural antihistamine and inhibits the distribution of histamine from the mast cell. In a study it even found that ginger has the same effect with allergic rhinitis as Loratadin. (13) But you should first test the ginger in small quantities.

  • Parsley. Yes, parsley can actually be drinked as a tea. It contains the bioflavonoid apigenin and luteolin, which slow down the histamine release from the mast cells and have an anti -inflammatory effect. (14)

Which types of tea should you avoid?

All caffeinated teas How black tea or green tea You should avoid. Also Nettle tea or Mate tea is not suitable because both are naturally histamine. With finished tea blends, you should take a closer look whether ingredients containing histamine have not crept in there. Because often in tea types, fruits like Oranges, strawberries or raspberries used.
