Menopause and histamine

A contribution by alternative practitioner Edda Federspiel

From the age of 40, the first changes in the female cycle can occur. The fertile time of the woman comes to an end and the ovaries slowly stop working. Ovulation is becoming less and less common and fewer and fewer hormones are formed. The body thus produces less progesterone and less estrogen, which can lead to shorter or longer menstrual cycles.

Symptoms of menopause

If the progesterone formation previously subsides than estrogen formation, an estrog dominance can arise. The relationship between progesterone and estrogen is no longer correct. This mismatch is one of the main causes for many malfunctions.

About a third of all women are affected by very violent symptoms, another third have mild to clearly noticeable symptoms and the last third has little or at best even no menopause.

Typical symptoms are:

  • Irregularities in the cycle (shorter, longer, stronger or weak bleeding)
  • Vasomotor disorders: hot flashes and sweats, heart racing, changes in blood pressure, etc.
  • Slotting and sleeping disorders
  • Libido decreasing
  • Muscle and joint pain, osteoporosis
  • Dry mucous membranes in the vagina, airways, bladder (often bladder infection)
  • Dry and thin skin
  • Schilddrand dysfunction
  • Marning drizzies (when laughing or sneezing)
  • Uterine
  • Hair loss, women's beard
  • Unit of drive, exhaustion, mood swings, irritability
  • Weight gain, especially in the abdominal area

The menopause and histamine intolerance

A sip of red wine or sparkling wine, a strong tomato sauce or a piece of chocolate, or just a stressful situation ... and glowing heat rises, the face and sometimes the entire body turn red, sweat breaks out, the heart knocks like wild ...

This is how many women describe the conditions that they experience more or less often at the beginning of their menopause.

Are these typical menopause or may histamine intolerance play a role? The answer: It can be both one and the other, and if you are really bad luck, even both what a potentiation of the symptoms can bring.

To find out that, you should leave out -of -fact food for a while and observe whether the symptoms decrease. If the symptoms decrease significantly or even disappear, you are most likely affected by histaminosis and should switch to a healthy, fresh diet without food -containing foods. You should also biogenic amine avoid.

Other food allergies and intolerances can also play a role and should therefore also be clarified. A Nutrition diary and one Grocery list You can at Histaminikus under the section World of knowledge download. You can also do the Sighi list print.

If there is no improvement, a hormone status or corresponding saliva test would be advisable for clarification, as well as checking the thyroid values for Hashimoto or an overfunction.

What role does the histamine play?

Women who had previously had histamine intolerance can experience further reinforcement of their symptoms in combination with the hormone change. If you were not affected by histamine intolerance before, you can develop histamine intolerance due to the sudden estrogen surplus.

If progesterone formation decreases faster than the formation of the estrogen, one speaks of an estrog dominance. There is no longer sufficient progesterone available to create an optimal hormone balance.

Too much estrogen, especially the estradiol, activates the mast cells and thus promotes the histamine release, at the same time it weakens the formation of DAO that is needed for histamine mining. So there is an excess of estrogen that can no longer be compensated for by the lack of progesterone. This state of deficiency, or the imbalance of the hormones, often leads to increased occurrence of allergies. In addition, estrogen and progesterone, which are natural atmosphere, also have receptors in the brain, which explains that an imbalance can lead to mood swings, irritability and depression.

Strains with heavy metals, glyphosate and other poisons, constant radiation exposure by WLAN and cell phone, chronic infections, dead teeth or tooth flocks, a bad lifestyle and many other reasons can also play a role and should be considered if nothing helps.

But there is a remedy!

  • Low -histamine diet with a lot of cream food; Avoid alcohol, coffee
  • Bioidentical hormones, B. progesterone, as a creme transdermal freely for sale, prescription as tablets
  • Phytotherapy: St. John's wort, valerian, hops, rose root to brighten up mood, reduction in stress, calm and/or for a relaxed sleep (passion flower, as in Histaminikus good evening tea)
  • Hormonally effective plants: Grape silver candle, keuschlamm (monk pepper), Ashwagandha (as in Histaminikus Stress let go), Indian ginseng - not in the event of a lack of estrogen, including
  • homeopathy: Constitutional agents, complex remedies, individual agents
  • Measure and compensate for vital and minerals
  • Intestinal check (Immune system, allergies, intolerances, irritable bowel syndrome etc.)
  • Coping with stress: Vagus exercises, yoga (hormonyoga), breathing exercises, etc.
